About
Our School

Where brilliance meets purpose, and legacy takes root.

Aya Renaissance School is an independent learning community designed to nurture brilliant, bold learners through a culturally rich, arts-integrated education. We blend rigorous academics with creative expression, character development, and deep cultural awareness to prepare students not just for the classroom—but for life.

Rooted in a commitment to excellence, Aya offers both in-person and virtual learning experiences for students in grades K–8. Our school week combines core instruction with dynamic enrichment in music, dance, creative writing, movement, and cultural studies. Each day is thoughtfully designed to stretch the mind, inspire the spirit, and honor the full identity of every learner.

Our approach is guided by a singular belief:
Children thrive when they are seen, celebrated, and deeply challenged.

We empower students to think critically, express creatively, and lead with confidence. Through intentional teaching, meaningful mentorship, and strong family partnerships, we cultivate scholars who are academically prepared, artistically inspired, and grounded in a strong sense of self.

Aya is more than a school—it’s a renaissance. A return to joy. A celebration of culture. A movement rooted in legacy and love.

Director’s Welcome

Welcome to Aya Renaissance School—where legacy begins with learning.

It is my deepest joy to welcome you to a school community built on the belief that every child carries brilliance, creativity, and purpose. At Aya, we don’t just teach—we nurture, inspire, and empower. We are a learning community that honors the past, embraces the present, and boldly prepares for the future.

Here, education is more than academics. It’s about identity, voice, and legacy. Our students explore literature, the arts, and culture in ways that affirm who they are and encourage them to dream boldly. Whether learning in person or virtually, Aya scholars are met with high expectations, deep care, and boundless opportunities to grow.

As the founding director, I created Aya Renaissance School because I believe our children deserve spaces that reflect their beauty, their brilliance, and their boundless potential. Thank you for entrusting us with the sacred work of educating your child. Together, we are raising leaders, artists, thinkers—and building a legacy that will last for generations.

With gratitude and vision,
Jeanetta Powell
